Mermaid Spell

Today is the day! Mum has promised to help find a spell that will make my dream come true: a spell for turning girls into mermaids. While Nana watches on to see the day unfold quite differently and the spell in hand, what will be the outcome?

Mermaids on the Rock

Mermaid sisters Cassandra and Alexandra are about to celebrate their 13^th birthday. They are filled with excitement as this milestone birthday comes with a very special gift; a chance to see the world above the ocean. Their friends, Diana the dolphin and Willy the whale, are worried that they are too young and adventurous for such an important experience.

However, all mermaids are allowed to go on this adventure for their 13^th birthday, and these mermaid sisters were not going to miss out. So, with strict instructions from their father, the girls started getting ready for the adventure of a lifetime! Little did these excited mermaids know, this birthday present was about to change their lives forever. It would also leave a lasting impression on one little boy, who would never forget the two beautiful mermaids on the rock.

My Doodle Turns into a Mermaid

Doodle and her best friend go on another adventure together, this time when they go swimming in the sea. They encounter many surprises during their trip to the sea, and some that take Rosie by complete surprise!

The two best friends go and spend the day at the beach to play in the sea, but it is a chance for Doodle to show Rosie two very big secrets.

‘As Doodle was swimming away from Rosie, Rosie noticed the strangest thing… Suddenly, the splashes of Doodles kicks turned into gentle, calm little movements and waves which were swaying peacefully behind her.’

Although Doodle has Rett Syndrome, it does not mean she cannot live a life like anyone else. She enjoys swimming as it gives her the opportunity to use her legs, which she finds difficult to do on land.

Rett Syndrome is a unique genetic condition caused by the X chromosome having an abnormality. This then causes the brain to develop slightly dissimilar to other brains, which could leave some people without any speech and the ability to walk.
